ADE 2026: Jean-Michel Jarre Lights Up 30 Years of Dance History

The countdown to October is officially on, and the energy is already electric. Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) will celebrate its monumental 30th anniversary from October 21 to 25, 2026. To mark this massive milestone, organizers have invited the ultimate electronic music pioneer, Jean-Michel Jarre, as their guest of honour.

From Humble Beginnings to Global Dominance

Think back to 1996. ADE kicked off as a modest three-day gathering. It hosted a mere 300 delegates and 30 DJs scattered across iconic spots like Paradiso and Melkweg. Fast forward three decades, and the landscape looks entirely different. The festival now draws over 500,000 passionate ravers and industry pros to Amsterdam. It has transformed the city into the beating heart of global club culture. Every modern DJ owes a nod to this evolution.

This year, the stars align perfectly. As ADE blows out 30 candles, Jean-Michel Jarre celebrates the 50th anniversary of his groundbreaking masterpiece, Oxygène. Released in December 1976, he crafted this synth-heavy journey in a makeshift studio inside his Paris apartment. Today, its cosmic sequences still influence the very artists dominating Ibiza's superclubs and global mainstages.

Speaking of our beloved White Isle, Ibiza is about to get its own taste of this historic celebration. In a massive announcement that has the island's electronic community buzzing, Jarre is confirmed to bring a mind-bending, exclusive show to the legendary Amnesia Ibiza. Merging his pioneering audio-visual universe with the venue's unparalleled club energy, this highly anticipated performance promises to be a monumental highlight of the Ibiza season, perfectly setting the stage for his Amsterdam takeover later in the year.

An Immersive Opening Night at AFAS Live

On October 21st, Jean-Michel Jarre will deliver an exclusive opening concert presented by MOJO and Insomniac. He takes over AFAS Live, a venue revered for its pristine acoustics and its pillar-free, 6,000-capacity Black Box. This space offers the perfect balance. It feels intimate enough to connect with the artist, yet massive enough for his legendary visual spectacles.

"Electronic music, as well as ADE, has a history, a legacy and a future. The live show at ADE is going to celebrate its 30th anniversary, but also the 50th anniversary of Oxygène. I have the ambition to keep the suspense and go from one track to another, into a different atmosphere, different stage design, mapping, giant projections and architectures of lights and videos, to share that moment that can stay in your heart and your brain for the rest of your lives - This is the reason I’m so happy to be part of this celebration in 2026."

Beyond the lasers and synths, Jarre will dive deep into his visionary mind during an exclusive keynote interview at ADE Pro. Expect him to drop serious knowledge about early studio experimentation. He will explore how technology, light, and sound continue to shape the future of our scene.

You definitely do not want to miss this historic convergence. Tickets for Jean-Michel Jarre at AFAS Live drop on Friday, March 13 via MOJO. Meanwhile, the ADE Pro Pass hits Early Bird rates starting Wednesday, March 11. Grab yours quickly, because the industry is buzzing.
