Morten Interview: Ibiza Magic, AI Secrets & Future Rave

MORTEN Unfiltered: The Magic of Ibiza, AI Vocals, and the Future Rave Journey
We recently caught up with the legendary MORTEN for an exclusive Ibiza 1 interview. We discussed his undeniable love for the White Isle and the realities of his intense touring life. Between dropping a massive wave of new tracks, navigating his fresh chapter as a father, and reflecting on his global success, the Danish powerhouse opened up completely. Grab a drink and dive into our chat as we explore the true magic of Ibiza, studio secrets, and what keeps his fire burning.
The Ultimate Dance Music Mecca
If you have visited Ibiza recently, you know the island vibrates on a whole new frequency. MORTEN holds a profound respect for this magical place. For him, the island represents the absolute pinnacle of electronic music culture. He explained his deep-rooted connection to the island's unique energy.
Growing up, I listened to BBC Radio 1, and I used to hear DJs streaming live from Ibiza, dreaming about performing there myself. It is the mecca of dance music.
He fondly remembers spending months at David Guetta's house before his own touring schedule exploded. They would explore the lush green landscapes and soak up the enduring 1970s hippie spirit. They also spent countless hours locked in the studio. Sometimes, they would finish a track, put it on a USB stick, and drive straight to Ushuaïa Ibiza. Seeing the crowd react to a brand-new song just hours after its creation felt incredibly surreal.
Ibiza's current nightlife dominance is impossible to ignore. The Night League has completely flipped the script, placing Ushuaïa Ibiza, Hï Ibiza, and their highly anticipated new project [UNVRS] at the very top of the global clubbing hierarchy. MORTEN clearly identifies why these venues reign supreme.
The team around these clubs is absolutely incredible. They are hardworking, amazing people with impeccable taste. Most of them are French, and they excel in hospitality, sound design, and lighting. It is simply the best nightlife experience in the world.
He praises the breathtaking production and the sheer energy of these legendary dancefloors. Whenever he shares the stage with David Guetta, the atmosphere turns electric. He proudly compares watching his friend's performance to seeing The Beatles or Elvis Presley. The crowd moves together as one, creating an unforgettable festival feeling in a club setting.
French Connections and Artificial Intelligence
France currently plays a massive role in his life. His girlfriend is French, his newborn son is half-French, and he frequently collaborates with French heavyweights. He recently teamed up with the enigmatic Malaa for an explosive back-to-back set at Tomorrowland Winter.
We do have slightly different sounds, but he is a highly talented producer and a good friend. It was exciting to create something a bit different and more club-oriented together.
He also keeps a close eye on the French urban music scene. His girlfriend introduced him to the Marseille rap icon Jul. Interestingly, MORTEN points out a funny coincidence with a massive smile:
Do you know what "Jul" means in my language? It actually means Christmas.
When it comes to the studio, MORTEN fully embraces modern technology. He openly discusses using Artificial Intelligence as a creative catalyst. For his hit track Lucky, AI generated a wide variety of vocal ideas. This rapid brainstorming sparked the entire concept for the massive anthem. It proves that producers can use technology smartly to push artistic boundaries without losing their soul.
He also feels incredibly hyped about his new track London, produced alongside David Guetta and Tinie Tempah. The live crowd reactions have been absolutely insane. Another massive highlight is the anthem Locked In. That track evolved brilliantly when Trippie Redd jumped on board. David Guetta sent the rapper the instrumental right before the release. The rapper loved it so much that he completely rewrote the vocal parts into pure fire.
Balancing Fatherhood and the Wild Tour Life
Life has shifted significantly for the superstar DJ. He recently welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world. This new chapter allowed him to spend less time touring and more time finishing music in his studio. He just dropped a massive wave of unreleased tracks, and he credits his strong support system for this newfound balance.
My girlfriend is incredibly supportive and helps out immensely at home. We try to work in shifts so we can both get some rest.
Fans are also eagerly waiting for the next Future Rave reunion. MORTEN assures us that the project never brought any pressure. They never tried to force a mainstream radio hit. When asked about a potential comeback, his answer is clear and comforting.
We will certainly do another Future Rave show at some point when the timing makes sense. However, it has never been a forced obligation. We will do it when the timing is perfect, when the stars align.
The intense tour life always brings wild stories. He beat the world's number one poker player in a thrilling six-hour match. However, not every surprise feels fun. During a recent gig in Slovakia, a fan unexpectedly bypassed security, which left a lasting impression on him.
A girl ran onto the stage and jumped on me right in the middle of a song. I almost had a heart attack... The stage is supposed to be your safe space.
He reminds us that the DJ booth needs to remain a secure environment. While the fan meant no harm, the intense discomfort highlights the vulnerability DJs face while delivering their art to massive crowds.
Despite his massive success, MORTEN stays hungry. He wants to keep evolving, stay creative, and challenge himself every single day. His relentless energy keeps the international dancefloor alive. Will we see you raving at his next explosive Ibiza show?
