AMF Celebrates ADE 30th Anniversary With 40,000 Ravers

Rain might have been pouring down on the Dutch capital this Saturday, October 24, but inside the Johan Cruijff ArenA, the climate was pure electric heat. We joined 40,000 dedicated ravers to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the legendary Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). Safely sheltered beneath the stadium's closed roof, the AMF massive danced non-stop until the sun came up at 6 AM. It was a flawless celebration of electronic music culture, and we were right there to soak in every beat.
A Visual Spectacle: David Guetta Unveils the Monolith
If you thought stadium shows couldn't get any more immersive, think again. The night showcased some seriously ambitious stage designs, but David Guetta completely stole the show with his Monolith setup. Originally conceptualized for the massive Stade de France, this audiovisual beast transformed the sporting arena into a singular, mesmerizing rave cave. Watching the mind-bending light show from the stands was a truly hypnotic experience. You could feel the energy radiating through the crowd with every laser sweep.
The surprises didn't stop at the production. During his blazing set, the French maestro invited Marlon Hoffstadt to share the decks for an explosive back-to-back. The crowd erupted when the duo dropped their highly anticipated collaboration, Caught Up. David Guetta also kept the energy peaking with Gimme Dat, an absolute weapon by Morten. Korolova had actually teased this exact track earlier in the evening to great effect. Fans of the signature sound can expect this massive tune to drop soon on David and Morten's own Future Rave imprint.

Fluid Transitions and Emotional Goodbyes
The sheer momentum of the AMF lineup was breathtaking. Navigating masterfully between house, trance, techno, and hardstyle, the transitions felt incredibly organic. The roster was a who's who of dance music royalty, featuring heavyweights like Afrojack, ARTBAT, D-Block & S-te-Fan, and the brilliant Korolova. The crowd was treated to a relentless journey through sound. Proving he is the man of the hour, Marlon Hoffstadt made a triumphant second appearance under his DJ Daddy Trance alias. He brought Hannah Laing to the stage. She sent fans into a frenzy by testing out her unreleased next single on the massive stadium sound system.
Beyond the high-BPM madness, the night held a beautiful, poignant moment. Belgian techno queen Amelie Lens delivered a spectacular performance that marked her final public gig for a while. She is officially stepping back to focus on her health and prepare for the birth of her second child. The crowd showered her with love, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of unity. Adding a fresh artistic touch to the marathon night, the Canvas collective stepped in to host a captivating interlude.
A Global Celebration for ADE's 30th Anniversary
Of course, a milestone like the thirtieth birthday of ADE couldn't just be contained within four walls. Armin van Buuren made sure the whole world felt the vibe. He broadcasted his iconic Dance Department radio show live from the stadium. The trance legend gifted the audience with the world premiere of What If I Told You. This stunning collaboration with Douwe Bob is officially dropping on October 29. The emotion was palpable as Armin took in the roaring crowd.
« AMF has been part of my story for many years, and this edition had a special flavor. Presenting Dance Department live from the site, then playing in front of a packed ArenA during the 30th edition of ADE, is the kind of night you don't forget. Thank you to everyone who danced with us, in the stadium as well as at home. »
For those who couldn't make it to Amsterdam, the magic was broadcasted far and wide. Alongside a dedicated livestream, networks like Radio 538 and Fun Radio carried massive chunks of the event across the airwaves. Dennis de Bruin, the General Manager of Insomniac Europe, perfectly summed up the triumph of the night.
« Seeing 40,000 people gather inside the Johan Cruijff ArenA to celebrate 30 years of ADE was truly special. Filling a stadium is never a given, and this Saturday showed what happens when great programming meets our audience. Thank you to every fan, artist, partner, and team member who made this night possible. »
Looking Ahead to the Next Chapter
As the sun rose over Amsterdam, the Amsterdam Dance Event closed its doors on a historic high note. The sheer scale and perfect execution of this year's AMF leave us dreaming about the future. Will the organizers maintain this gargantuan capacity and mind-blowing production for the 2027 edition? We certainly hope so. Until then, keep dancing, stay passionate, and tell us: what was your absolute favorite moment of this year's festival season?
